The allure of the warrior/baker/fisherman

This person is a warrior, baker, and fisherman all rolled up into one. More generally, this person would be known as the jack of all trades.

You can think of him as the medieval fantasy equivalent of having a strong husband1 who can mow the lawn, wash the dishes, do the laundry, entertain the kids, replace flat tires, and so on. In fact, he is so skilled that he can take on three professions simultaneously. He fights off wild beasts to keep you safe! He catches fish for dinner! He makes sandwiches when you're hungry!

I suppose the allure is in having Mr. Handyman do all the chores so that it leaves you with plenty of free time. He is the reason why you lie on the sofa and read that magazine while telling yourself that you've worked hard enough. Besides, he can handle everything by himself.

Furthermore, his usefulness extends outside of his private life. He is so useful that others often ask him for favors. They recognize his value, and so do you, so nobody leaves him alone because they're all caught in his allure.

And that's how harems are made. Or something.

1. Although this person is not necessarily male, I've chosen him to be only for the purposes of this example.
